Shipping to United States: $3.50

Ammonites have inhabited the planet for more than 300 million years! This is longer in history then the dinosaurs. Ammonites disappeared in the mass extinction event along with the dinosaurs more than 66 million years ago. These fossils provide a wealth of information for scientists and geologists everywhere who use them for dating rocks to confirm the presence of prehistoric oceans.

These beautiful fossils have been cut polished and preserved. Some of them show the rainbow colors of the shell shining through on the backside. Most of them also represent a druzy of crystal formations.

Care instructions

Some gems and minerals can be fragile and we recommend handling your specimen with care. Please also know that out of abundance of caution, we do not recommend the trend of putting mineral specimens in your drinking water as it is not always healthy to do so. Additionally, some minerals are water soluble and using water as a method to clean certain specimens can lead to deterioration. We do recommend dusting your minerals with a wide paintbrush you can find at the dollar store or by using an air can.
